What is Rescue Repair?

We’re in the heat of the moment (summer, that is!), and the temperature isn’t the only thing on the rise. Our long awaited Rescue Repair Hand & Body Treatment Crème has arrived, and it’s sure to warm up your beauty routine. Summer activities can intensify the dryness of your rough patches, and Rescue Repair is designed to restore and renew skin that needs some extra TLC.

Where do I use it?

Rescue Repair is the perfect match for your hands, feet, elbows, décolletage, or anywhere that needs a little more attention than your basic moisturizer can give. Along with smoothing skin, Rescue Repair is a great instrument for lightening age or dark spots you may have acquired over the years under the sun. Silky, even-toned skin for the win!

Where can I get it?

You can find the Rescue Repair on the Stemulation website here, or in stores here. For a limited time only: Get 15% off any Rescue Repair order with the code “RRIntro”. Hurry, just like summer… this deal’s sun will set soon!

Changing your routine: Step into summer with Stemulation

Scrub for the summer!

Now that the first official days of summer have arrived (though some cities have been feeling the heat for awhile now!), it’s about that time to switch up your everyday skin and makeup routine. There are many reasons why you should consider adding/ subtracting different products- you’re outside more in the summer, and between the sweltering sun and the dips in the water, you have to protect your skin while still looking good. Here are a couple ways to do just that.

Here’s a list of the wintery products to hibernate during the summer, and the perfect products to take their place:

Hibernate: Heavy moisturizer. Though a savoir of skin in cold, harsh conditions, anything other than a very light moisturizer can clog pores when combined with sweat from the warm weather. Skip the thick creams to avoid unwanted bumps during the summer.

Swap for: Light moisturizer with SPF for daytime. Though SPF may sound like a no-brainer during the summer, so many people skip the SPF thinking it will add an unwanted texture or scent to their face. The right moisturizer (like perhaps Stemulation’s Facial Serum) in addition to sunscreen will help protect your face from redness, sunburn, and wrinkles in your future. Say it with me now… “I will make room for SPF”!

Hibernate: Foundation. Similar to the heavy moisturizer, foundation can spell trouble for clear pores in the summer. The thick texture can almost seem to “melt” off your face if you are to sweat, and take the rest of your makeup with it. Avoid this drippy mess altogether from June to September.

Swap for: Tinted Moisturizer. If you are as attached to a base for your makeup as I am, then tinted moisturizer is the best solution for the summer months. Many even have SPF included in them- who doesn’t love a multitasking product? Make it work for you by applying lightly with downward strokes, and then lightly dust with a loose powder to set. A little tip- the less makeup you wear (or look like you’re wearing!), the younger you’ll look. Tinted moisturizer is thin enough that it will not set in the creases of your face, unlike its cousin the foundation.

Hibernate: Basic cleanser. Any soapy cleanser is great for the summer, but you can one-up your go-to face wash for the warmer weather with exfoliation. Though you may associate exfoliation with winter skin, your skin needs to be scrubbed in the summer too. Even using a light moisturizer and tinted moisturizer doesn’t exclude you from the face sweat club (a little gross, I know) during the summer. Basic cleansers can’t always get deep down into pores where they need to be cleaned the most, but exfoliators can.

Swap for: Cream cleanser with exfoliating beads. As we said before, there ain’t no party like a scrubbing party. Invest in a cream cleanser that exfoliates your skin without over-drying, as parched skin will just produce more oil. No thanks! Here comes the shameless self promotion… Stemulation’s Micro Derm Scrub covers all these bases. An affordable, multitasking, beneficial scrub? This may just find a permanent spot on your bathroom counter.

A Guide: Spring Cleaning Your Cosmetics

May 4th, 2011

Toss that crumbly mascara after 3 months!

Though spring cleaning is usually thought of as a time to say goodbye to tired clothing (still hoarding those Reebok Pumps from ’93?) and dust our ceiling fan blades, it is also the perfect season to toss out some things that could have gone bad months ago. That tub of sour cream in the back of your fridge? Well yes, that too- but we’re talking about your cosmetic drawer. Makeup and skin care products have a shorter lifetime than you may think (bacteria buildup is not something you want to mess with), so here is a guide to the lifetime of some of your fave products.

You are what you eat: Stemulating your skin from the inside out

March 24th, 2011

Guess which ones are good for your skin?

Take a moment and look at your skin- is it telling you something? If it is dry, rough, or splotchy, it’s probably screaming for attention. Though Stemulation products can help improve skin tone, discoloration, and overall texture (shameless plug!), sometimes the key to getting that extra “glow” has to come from within- and what yummier way to get the skin you want than by eating! Here are a couple nourishing snacks for your skin that will have you smiling while you nosh- and when you look in the mirror.

Some food for thought

Walnuts. It is essential that your body gets enough Omega 3’s- a nutrient we don’t produce on our own- and these nuts are chuck full of the healthy oils. Omega 3 fatty acids maintain the structure and fluidity of the cell membrane, and as even more of a benefit, these healthy fats help prevent a wide range of medical problems, including cardiovascular disease, depression, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Its just nutty how good these are for you!

Broccoli. Your mama knew best when she made you finish your “little trees” as this veggie is rich in Vitamin C and therefore a delicious and nutritious addition for your skin diet. Skin discoloration is a side effect of a Vitamin C deficiency; so try to incorporate as much of this protective anti-oxidant into your daily diet.

Redness of the face should decrease

Sweet potatoes. This saccharine side is an excellent source of Vitamin A, a nutrient important for your normal skin cell growth and development. Vitamin A may also play a vital role in the prevention of acne and scaly, dry skin.

We're not sugar-coating how nutritious these are

Whole grains. Trimming your waistline is only one benefit of munching on these grains. As a great resource for zinc, eating whole grains can help your body produce collagen, naturally firming up your skin- like a drink from the fountain of youth.

Smooth, rejuvenated skin

Poultry. Though you may equate chicken to bland, this common dish is anything but when it comes to benefiting your skin. This bird and its distant cousin, the turkey, are full of selenium, a mineral that guards and protects the elasticity of your skin.

A Febrary Update from Stemulation

February 22nd, 2011

A lot has been happening around here since we last posted, so we thought we’d catch you up with all the excitement. Earlier this month, Stemulation had another great experience at a gifting suite, this time for the 3rd Annual Valentine Romance Oscar Suite in celebration of the 83rd Academy Awards. We had the privilege of mingling with celebrities such as Mischa Barton from the hit series The O.C., Scott Baio from T.V. show Charles in Charge, and Chris McDonald from movies Happy Gilmore & Requiem for a Dream. We spent time presenting our product line, explaining thoroughly how our proprietary cell cultured media works and how it differs from living stem cells, something that is often confused. We left with new friends and earned many positive reactions. Here are some pictures from the event:

On a different note, we have also revamped our website with new photos, an updated media section, an extended list of retailers, and most excitingly a renovated online shopping experience! With new product pictures and more detailed descriptions, reviews of each product and the option to add products to a Wish List, it has never been easier to purchase your favorite Stemulation products. We are so proud of our snazzy new site and we hope you find it just as convenient and attractive. Here’s a sneak peek of some of the new product pictures:
